Metal and Glass

Shootin' metal ain't easy, but it is if you've downed a few PBR's before hand, am I right? For my Advanced Techniques class, we learned how to light metal and glass and then were assigned a partner to shoot one or the other with. I was paired with Nick Schnelle and picked metal.

It took me awhile to come up with the concept. Initially, I obviously wanted to take pictures of food. But then I remembered this ridiculous flask I have and came up with my concept — hipster drinking trends. Add some PBR, a mustached-partner and we were set.

Although I struggled with my last studio assignment, I felt I knew my way around the studio a little bit better this time and was more confident in myself. I ended up reshooting this once, but just to tweak some minor things. I'm pleased with the outcomes.

Let me know what you think, Advanced Techniques veterans!
